It is Giveaway time! CONTEST CLOSED

Photobucket

I am so excited to be participating in this enormous carnival. I have had a great time each time it has been done and am excited to be giving away my prizes. Here is what you can win:

That's right! There are four cute stuffed animals made by me. That means I will have four lucky winners at the end of the week.

Now for the rules:
  • This contest is open to everyone! These cuties are light enough that they are not going to cost me a fortune in shipping and I want my international readers to be able to get in on the fun.
  • I must have a way to contact you. Please make sure that you have a link to an email address because I would hate to have you loose out on a chance to win.
  • One entry per person.
  • Flattery never hurts.
  • I will pick the winners on Saturday February 2.
  • Please make sure that you answer the contest question. If you do not, I will not count it as an entry. Sorry!
Ok, now how to enter my contest: I have a lot of fond memories of playing with toys when I was a kid. I want to know what was your favorite toy and why was it so fun for you? Answer that simple question and you have an entry into my contest, that's it!

I can't believe you made those toys...and clothes for them! Incredible!

My favorite toy growing up is a toss up between Barbies and dirt. I loved to dress up the Barbies, mostly. They didn't do much except get dressed up for various outings which they never actually went on. And drive around in shoes. The dirt was my experimental kitchen. Digging for nice muddy dirt, using a sieve for 'soft dirt,' etc. And then I'd make various dishes accented with leaves, seeds, and weeds.

I adored stuffed animals. I had whole zoo full of them! When I was a very little girl, I would spread out my blanket on the floor, get out my tea set, and have a tea party with all by bears, bunnies, cats, dogs, horses, fish, monsters, and anyone else who wanted to join!

Unknown said...

I was a Barbie girl. I made up outrageous adventures for them!

My favorite toy was my "Easy Bake Oven" and my favorite thing to cook in it was mud pies. I loved dirt and the clay soil around our house made the most beautiful mud pies you ever saw--the alkali made a love white "sugar" frosting on top when they were "done" cooking. My grandad would pretend to eat them and told me that I made the best mud pies he'd ever eaten. I still love dirt (geology)and making pies (cherry, apple, etc.--no mud).

My favorite stuffed animal was a stuffed bunny I got for Easter when I was 5...(20 years ago)...we went on vacation and I was afraid the Easter Bunny wouldn't be able to find me, but he did, and left me Molly. Molly is still on my bed, so you know that any animal I received would have a good, lifelong home! :-)

I loved Barbies, but I would have loved your stuffed animals even more! If I win, can I have the blue rabbit? He is so cute!!! If I don't win, can I bribe you for a blue rabbit?

If it influences your decision at all, he would be called Babbit the Blue Rabbit and he would inhabit a shelf in my scrapbooking room to torture my children for the rest of their days. Sounds like a good life, right?

Pick me, pick me, pick me!

Oh, you are the greatest blogger/stuffed-animal-maker I know!

My favorite toy as a kid was a marionette Cinderella. I wanted her so badly and got her as a gift for my kindergarten graduation. (And I rarely asked my parents for *anything*.) I was really too young for a marionette, though, and the strings were always getting tangled.

I've been looking for stuffed animals that aren't made in China to give to my baby girl, these would be perfect! So cute!

How cool are you??!! I am so impressed! I love home made stuffed animals. I remember when my mom made me a teddy bear - it was bright fuzzy red and it had a jingle bell inside, I carried it every where and called it my red jingle-bear. When we moved before my 12th b-day my Dad was left with the packing and it accidentally got left behind - I still remember and miss that bear. Your boys will treasure these (I assume you made some for them too) :) for years to come.

Jeni said...

My favorite toy was a small stuffed bear that my grandparents gave me for my 3rd birthday. It was just the right size to tuck on my toddler hip and carry around. It had a music box that played "Brahms Lullaby," so to this day I refer to it as my "Doo doo doo" bear. (You know, the song goes, "Doo doo doo, doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo...")

My fave toy when I was 7 & 8 was a Baby That-A-Way doll. She used batteries and when you sat her on her bottom she would wave. She would crawl when you put her on the floor. That doll is now 32 years old and sits on a shelf at my Mom's.

Thanks for the giveaway!

My favorite toy was a crocheted rabbit that my grandmother made for me. I was so attached to it that my mother had to get her to make another one so she could swap in the spare and swap out my favorite rabbit, cleverly named "Favorite" and wash it. Both Favorite and Mr, Whiskers, the spare, are in my closet on my shelf to this day. My own children play with the bears she made for me.

Okay...here's a long-ish story. Remember the year that Cabbage Patch Dolls were first out and nobody could get one? I, too, desperately wanted a cabbage patch doll but my dad and new step-mom couldn't find one anywhere. They were shopping for a new van at the time and they couldn't decide between two vans. There was a free tv if they bought from one dealer or a cabbage patch doll if they bought from the other. They bought a van that they wouldn't necessarily have bought just so that I could get a cabbage patch doll for Christmas. It has remained a special toy from my childhood just because of the love tat my dad and step-mom showed to get it for me.

My favorite toys were a set of Cabbage Patch twins that I got for Christmas one year. We were poor, but my dad was determined that "his kids were going to have a good Christmas, darnit." So my parents went into debt for the first time in their marriage, and I got the Cabbage Patch twins, along with a bunk bed that my dad built and had a nameplate put on, with little mattresses and pillows and blankets and sheets that my mom made, and 5 or 6 matching outfits for my twin dolls that my mom sewed as well. That was the first Christmas that I remember, and I never knew until much later that it was a stressful time for my parents.

I've always wanted to make stuffed animals and yours are so adorable!

My favorite toy was a huge teddy bear. Here's the story: my sister and I are 1 year apart, so we always had to share our toys. One day, we went shopping with my mom and her sister (my aunt), and we fell in love with this huge teddy bear (the size of a large toddler). My aunt saw how much we loved it, and she bought us one each: I got a brown and pink bear, my sister got a black and white one. We dragged those bears everywhere, until years later, my bear started falling apart at the stitches, and my sister spilled milk on hers, and it never smelled the same again. :(

Great contest btw! I hadn't really thought about that bear for years :)
