I just felt my first real Californian earth quake. It was a mere 4.4 but the strongest one that I have ever felt in my life. I think I had better go check on my 48 hour kit and make sure everything is where it should be.
Yep this is truly my first one. In the four years that I have lived in this state this is the first earthquake I have felt. I had thought I would have been through one much earlier.
Living in a country where earthquakes happen on a regular basis would scare the hell outta me. Wow, I got so lucky that we don't have 'em here in Germany. *smile*
Mt. St. Helens has been having quakes too, but not big enough for us to feel anything. There is talk that she is working up to something though. I need to get my 72 hour kit updated too. I've been in a few earthquakes, one in my hometown here in Oregon when I was in highschool (my first, I thought dad was shaking my bed) and I experienced quite a few on my mission in Chile. In one I could even see the floor rippling beneath my feet, it was wild!
Here are a few facts about me: I am married, I have 3 lovely boys and 1 girl: Evan (eight), Harry (six), Daniel (three) and Lily; I love reading (especially science fiction novels but I do have a wide range of reading interests); I dabble in many different crafts (right now I am into knitting) and I don't floss my teeth every day like I should. My eldest son has a complex heart defect and that has changed my life in so many ways (mostly good).

Earthquakes are so much fun.
Wow! I was just there over the weekend, and I didn't get to experience an earthquake!

You should have stayed a bit longer because this one was felt in San Jose. It was felt as far west as Sacramento.

I've never been in one...I think I'd FREAK out. Our stake has been totally pushing having our 72-hour kids ready.
