Halloween wrap up

Another year with no Trick or Treaters. I think that my neighborhood must be one of the ones that is "bad" so no one comes by. The first year we lived here I bought a large bag of candy thinking that we would be out by the end of the night. Not a kid knocked on the door. The next year I bought a smaller bag with the same results. Not needing to have a bunch of candy sitting around we decided to not buy any this year.

This whole not having trick or treaters is quite disappointing to me. When I reached a certain age handing out candy became the biggest part of Halloween. I was too old to go out on my own so my joy came from seeing all the younger kids dressed up. I feel kind of cheated that no one is coming.

We did not take Evan out trick or treating this year, so I guess we were part of the problem. I just did not think he was really ready just yet. I tried really hard to teach him to say "trick or treat" even bribing him with chocolate chips. It was no good he was not going for it one bit. He would happily say any number of things but trick or treat was not one of them. Maybe next year!

I know how you feel. We live in the country and not on a main road so we do not get any trick or treaters either :( .

Awe... I'd be so sad without a trick or treater. I just love Halloween and seeing all the kids. Our ward has a big "trunk-or-treat" in the parking lot and the kids go from car to car to trick or treat and that is lots of fun. I hope you still had fun with your cute little family.

It took Becca a few tries and the reinforcement of candy to understand the trick or treat part!

Odd that you get like no kids!

Apparently no one trick-or-treats our block, either. Last year we got two trick-or-treaters; this year we got none. No one was at home to trick-or-treaters on our block, but we went one over and there were two blocks with about 8 houses lit up, so we went there, and apparently they got so few trick-or-treaters that they gave candy very lavishly.

Having just looked up registered sex offenders in our area, what I find ironic is that our area has none, and hardly any trick-or-treaters, but surrounding more "affluent" neighborhoods that get a lot of little kids going door-to-door have several sex offenders each. Interesting...

Awesome,
It seems that there were fewer kids out this year by us.
Hope you ate some of the candy and danced to the Monster Mashdespite no trick-or-treaters.

Noticed you are doing NaBloPoMo too. I'll be reading.

We only had one small group of trick or treaters, but I couldn't go to the door because I was on the phone with the health insurance company!! The only candy we gave out was to the pizza delivery guy!
DH took the rest of our candy to work today. I can't have it around because of my gestational diabetes, and it would have been TOO tempting!

Passing out candy can be so much fun!
