Proof that Awesome Mom is not always awesome
This is a cake I made on Sunday just because Evan asked. I did not grease the pan good enough so the cake layers would not come out of the pans properly. I just mashed the crumbled pieces together and frosted the entire thing. It tastes the same but my husband sure has a fun time teasing me every time he has a slice.
My next imperfection as a parent is what Harry had for a snack this morning. What is so bad about a snack? Well if it is a large hunk from some sidewalk chalk that I left out there is a problem. I fished quite a bit of it out of his mouth (at peril of having my fingers chomped on) but he was still drooling blue for a bit after.

he he, looks like you've been taking baking lessons from me!
Some days are just like that!
And yes, cake should taste good no matter what shape it's in!
Cake is cake! Send some over here please! I will oooh and ahhh.
I love that Evan is old enough to ask for cake now. You should definately give Evan what ever he wants.
Hey, it's the taste (and the effort) that counts! :)
Looks yummy to me! At least you made the effort!
Hey.. .at least you came up with the idea to keep it and eat it. Knowing me, I would have thrown it away.. makes sense it would still taste the same!!! :-)
The heat here really isn't that bad :)
You are an awesome mom just for baking the cake in the first place. I've had some pretty big baking disasters and yours looks pretty darn good in comparison. ;-)
Ha, ha, ha, I have two paper eaters! Oooh, boy, let me tell you, when the baby starts crying and won't nurse, I know to check her throat for paper obstructing it! And the worst part is that she wants it, so her sister GIVES IT TO HER. *sigh*
The cake looks good to me. Heck, ANY cake looks good to me. *considers baking a cake at 3:30 in the morning* Nah. Not tonight.
I am not a very good cake maker, so I cannot criticize :). Looks great to me ~ and very yummy!
Cake! And ice cream! And chalk! What a combo!
Mmm, chalk! Yummy! ;)
Doesn't everyone make a cake like that at least once? One time, to be silly I wrote down that I would bring "baked bads" for a bake sale, and they did indeed turn out bad....
It looks better than the first cake I made in college. It fell completely so I made the indentation into a fishpond of icing. Hmmm....
i too am threilled he is old enough to ask for cake and yes I agree with auntie E- by means give peanut everything he wants!!!!
I don't know-- that cake looks good to me. Mmm, cake . . .
I've had a few look like that, put a scoop of ice cream with it and it's already lookin' better!
Dude... that looks like a cake I would turn out! LOL!
