A fun thing about vacation

One of the biggest reliefs of being on vacation is that you don't have to plan dinner. That is one of my least favorite things about helping to run a household, only doing dishes and cleaning toilets is worse. It has been so nice to play away the afternoon right up until dinner time. I have not been a slacker the whole two weeks however, we did help out several days this week but it was still oh so nice to not have to do it every night.

Yah - I only have to plan meals for me and I have a tough enough time. Hahaha ...

I can't imagine having to plan for more than that. Or better still, I can't imagine the grocery bill on more than one. My single person bill is high enough. Yikes. :)

I hear you. But is it bad that my dinner plans today include (exclusively) mint chocolate chip ice cream???

I generally try to plan meals that will guarantee leftovers, so that I only have to come up with a few ideas each week. I also keep frozen burger patties on hand for those times when I don't want to cook, but going out isn't an option either.

"homemade" burgers taste better than fast food ones anyway.

Sometimes what I like best about not having to fix dinner is trying someone's else's cooking. It's nice to have a change.

I'd rather clean the toilet. Not the dishes though. Mostly cause I hate them so that I have to wash about 90% of them at a go. But yes, I'm getting close to the point where I'm tempted to just let everyone starve. Doesn't work so well for the baby though. And I feel bad if I feed him cold cereal more then twice a day. Hope you enjoy your vacation to the fullest!

I'm the same way. My husband likes to tell people that I love to cook. I'm always correcting him and saying, "No, I love to eat. These are two completely different things!"

Oh I'd rather cook any day than clean toilets. As evidence you can check out the toilets. Er...better not.

I take weekends off cooking to save me from being a wreck. Then hubby cooks (badly I might add but I let it go so I do not have to cook!)
