Sock it to me

I knit my first sock ever. I bought a skein of rather pricey yarn and wanted to make something for me with it. I found this sock pattern and decided to practice it with some yarn that I was not all that thrilled with. I started the sock on Wednesday evening and finished a few hours ago. It turned out great and I can't wait to make the second one. The design is called broken garter. This is a thick and cozy sock.

Excellent! Although you know of course that you've made a serious error of judgement? There is nothing like a delightful homemade sock to some how change your attitude towards chucking out a sock with an additional hole - it'll give you heartache I promise.
Best wishes
