Irony

As I am quietly trying not to panic as I attempt to plan the Blue and Gold dinner for the ward I can't help but almost laugh at the irony of me ending up being in charge of it. I have never actually been to one! I have all sisters, so we were not exactly active in cub scouts or boy scouts. Last year we could have gone, but me being pregnant and really not wanting to deal with two rambunctious little boys helped me decide not to go. At least this will be the best one I have ever been to even if nothing goes right.

All the Blue and Gold dinners we've gone to were potluck (often with assignments) and a few served decorated theme cakes. Usually the Blue and Gold dinner is held on the normal Pack Meeting night, with the cub master and Pack Committee involved in the planning: decorations, food, program, etc. But maybe the situation in your Ward is different. Don't worry---you'll do fine.
Recently I was transferred from teaching in Primary to being the leader for the wolf den (8 yr. olds). Have 5 boys, and they have lots of energy!

Oh goodness, I don't even know what a Blue and Gold dinner is. I'll have a lot to learn about when we finally get home, eh?

Best of luck, for me being in charge of dinners, activities and such is my NIGHTMARE.

But, I'm sure you'll do great!:)

Luckily you have the internet and I know there are zillions of good ideas out there. I'm toying with the idea of making twinkie cars for the pinewood derby... I'll be shocked if I actually do it. =)

Good luck.

Sure hope there is someone in your Ward that you can ask or is able to help you. If you would like send me a msg on FB, and I'll tell you what we do for our B&G. Briefly though, ours is held on a separate night than the pack meeting and lasts about 2 1/2 hours.

Colton is excited about joining in June. He figured when he turned 6 he should be able to join. LOL! Had a hard time understanding he had to wait until he finished K.
