You know you are the parent of a kid with medical issues when you freak out about your child loosing a tooth rather than being excited.
Saturday morning my husband woke me up to look at Evan's mouth which was missing a tooth. My mind immediately jumped to the worst possibility, that Evan had been goofing off and had somehow knocked his tooth out. I was already mentally planning a trip to the dentist and all the hassle that would be involved with getting him a spacer and so on. Luckily I had enough sense to call my mom and see how old I was when I lost my first tooth before I called a dentist. The lack of blood and mouth trauma also helped calm me down.

I hope the tooth fairy is going to give him some money anyway. I know he did for your sister when she swallowed a tooth in her sleep.
Oh no!
The kids love it, but I don't. All traces of baby go out the window when they start getting those big teeth. :D
awww his first tooth! How exciting!
His Daddy and all his siblings lost their baby teeth early, and got their big teeth earlier, too.
One advantage is he can start wearing braces earlier (if braces are needed) But you don't need to worry about that for a few years.

P.S. Hope the tooth fairy finds your house ok.
Wow! Such a big guy now with a missing tooth!
Congratulations on such a momentous milestone. First teeth missing are so much fun.
My son is complaining of a loose tooth and I keep thinking, "But he's too young!" and then remembering that I lost my first tooth in the first couple of weeks of kindergarten, so he's not.
Another thing that you wonder is does he need antibiotics? We are always told that our CHD kids need antibiotics with certain types of injuries, surgeries and DENTAL visits. It can make ya nuts!
So glad he is doing well and showing off his "manly" space between his teeth. He looks so proud of it! And he should be! Congrats Evan!
Oh! He's growing up so fast! And he's so cute. -- Damselfly
Wow! So, did the tooth fairy come?? That is really early! My kids were late, Yoshi was about six and a half before he lost his first tooth and mightily fed up with the unfairness of it all. Then he lost four in one day... The tooth fairy nearly went bankrupt.
You're so funny. I'll probably react the same way and my kids don't have medical issues.
Fun milestone!
His first tooth, how exciting. Have a look at the sequence of how baby teeth come out http://diyfather.com/
