He's just getting to the point where he'll tell us immediately after he's messed his diaper, so I guess that's a good sign.

I really don't know how to proceed, though. I got them at Babies R Us. They look and feel like regular cotton briefs, and come off and on normally, but they have an extra layer of padding where it matters most, so they'll catch small accidents (not a flood, mind, but those "I was on the way to the potty and I got distracted by my toys took too long" kind) andJaelithehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12081888212421953409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17635299.post-23687659608548477152009-02-18T16:24:00.000-06:002009-02-18T16:24:00.000-06:00Wow! HOW you ask?? Grandson, lol. He also must ahve underpants and pants on, or a pull up and pants, no bare bottom for him either. We started a little race, I ask him like every 10 minutes and then see if he can get to the bathroom before I count to 10, it's working. We're in the middle of potty training my 3 year old now, too and it's a load of "fun".

One technique I did hear of through a friend, is asking them "do you want to use the potty now or in five minutes?" gives them a choice, but then you stick to your guns when the 5 minutes is over aif they say no again.Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15080488909182074526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17635299.post-63951391299871971502009-02-18T09:17:00.001-06:002009-02-18T09:17:00.001-06:00I feel your pain. Hoss also would not tell us when he needed to use the potty (and sometimes still doesn't). We just guaged when we thought he may have to go and have him sit on the potty. Sometimes this was a fight, but now he will go when we tell him. He still says "No" a lot if asked if he needs to go. We are just trying to get the pooping in the potty down.
